experience our performing arts
At Amalorpavam, we aim for our students to excel not only academically and in sports but also in the field of performing arts. To support this goal, we have established a Music Club and equipped it with a variety of musical instruments. Training is provided in guitar, veena, violin, flute, keyboard, tabla, drums, and mridangam. Additionally, students receive training in Bharatanatyam, folk dance, and yoga.
Students are encouraged to pursue professional training as well. Those interested can attend special training sessions outside school hours, especially if they are preparing for grade exams with the Trinity College of Music. We have partnered with Kalai Kaviri Fine Arts College, Trichy, to offer a 3-year Diploma Course in Fine Arts.
School Band
The school band enhances skills in cooperation and coordination, which are highly valued in both business and high-tech industries. Our School Band focuses on group performances and frequently participates in major government functions in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The band comprises two wings:
- Girls – Pipe Band
- Boys – Brass Band
- The band is trained by retired police officers.
Keyboard
Our keyboards are ideal for aspiring musicians. Playing the keyboard enhances rhythm skills in children, which can positively impact their academic performance.
Drums
Drumming channels positive energy, aligns heartbeats with rhythm, and helps eliminate negative energies. Playing the drums can improve children’s motor skills.
Guitar
The guitar is one of the most popular instruments at Amalorpavam. Learning to play the guitar can enhance a child’s concentration skills.
Veena
The veena is an instrument associated with divine expression. Playing the veena helps children develop patience and understanding.
Flute
The flute is often considered a divine instrument and mimics the sounds of nature. Mastering the flute requires excellent control of airflow, which can help children maintain mental peace.
Violin
As one of the more challenging instruments, the violin requires dedicated practice. Our teachers at Amalorpavam assist students in mastering the violin, which can improve memory and attention span.
Folk Dance
Folk dance helps students connect with their cultural heritage and community. Amalorpavam is committed to reviving this cherished art form.
Salangai Pooja(Anket adorning)
The school conducts Salangai Pooja (anklet adorning) annually. This ceremony is performed when a dancer has gained proficiency in Bharatanatyam and thalam. The anklets are worn for dancing only after the Salangai Pooja.
Bharathanatiyam
We offer training in Bharatanatyam and conduct Arangetram ceremonies each year. In partnership with Kalai Kaviri Fine Arts College, Trichy, we also provide a 3-year Diploma Course in Fine Arts.
