At Amalorpavam, we offer an exciting and extensive activities for our primary students. The extra-curricular activities allow children the opportunity to try out new and exciting pursuits, allowing them to find alternative avenues of interest to explore and enjoy.
There are many opportunities for students to have leadership roles at Amalorpavam. Our objective behind varied extracurricular activities is to strengthen our students' innate creativity and curiosity, eliminate the fear of failure, and give them the skills for creatively solving problems. We provide our students with the appropriate tool to showcase their choices, ideas and seek solutions for themselves. We want to instill confidence and self-sufficiency in our students.

| Language | Students have an option of choosing either Tamil or Hindi from class 3 . As Tamil is the mother tongue, a strong foundation is laid to learn the Language development in the Early years of the Primary Classes. Language helps the child to communicate, express and understand feelings. |
| English | The English language plays an essential role in our lives as it helps in communication. The spoken English and grammar is taught in a playway method. English is important for students as it broadens their minds, develops emotional skills, and improves the quality of life by providing job opportunities. |
| Mathematics | Mathematics helps us understand the world and provides an effective way of building mental discipline. The Complex topics of Maths are simplified and taught by our efficient teachers. The slow-learners are given special care and focussed coaching to understand the steps and concepts of the taught Maths. It enable the student to use logical reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, abstract or spatial thinking, and problem-solving ability. |
| EVS | Environmental Studies teaches solutions for everyday life and helps us to answer the great mysteries of the universe. Students are trained to understand the practical applications of science and its theories in their lives in a simplified process. The EVS subject is a combination of three components of studies, namely, history, geography and science. This subject focuses on the exploration, development and conservation of nature and its elements with a vivid understanding of the human, social and cultural dimensions of the wider environment. |
The school has state-of-the-art computer labs to cater the students from primary, middle, high school and to senior secondary levels so that every student can keep abreast with IT enhanced learning programmes. The school has spacious, most sophisticated Computer Science Laboratories with high speed internet connectivity and regularly upgrades systems and software. There are 3 computer labs, two for the lower classes and the main computer lab for the students appearing for their public exams. The entire 3 computer Labs are high-tech with LED projectors with virtual classroom facilities that are centrally air-conditioned. The students are given regular lab experiences to have up to date knowledge about the subject and programming with up to date technology advances in IT based educational initiatives.
Value Education is an indispensable part of our curriculum. Our School pays prime attention in disciplining the characters of our students for it carves and mould every student’s character. A realization of self awareness of one’s own behaviour is required to shape and mature oneself perfectly. Value Education is the way students become more and more aware of things that are right and wrong in a society and for an individual. It helps students to also develop a strong relationship with one’s own self, family and friends.
We, at Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School offer a wide range of structured sports activities to our students to ensure they are physically and mentally fit. Our sports activities help in identifying their hidden talent at the same time making them understand the science behind biomechanics, movement sciences (Kinesiology), and preventive and rehabilitative sciences
We would like our students to shine not only in the academic/sports but outshine everyone in the field of performing arts as well, and for this purpose we have opened a Music Club and installed all types of musical instruments. Training is imparted in Guitar, Veena, Violin, Flutes, Keyboards, tabala, drums and miruthangams. In addition, students are trained in Bharathanatiyam, Folk Dance and in yoga.
English Language Lab is installed with Internationally Certified Language Learning Software providing audio visual equipment to enhance comprehensive language skills. It focuses on the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing adopted in blended methodology of games, playway, repeat and practice exercises, etc.
Education should be skill based rather than knowledge based so that it will be easy for all students to study faster and understand better. In the present scenario, skill based education is not a choice but the need of the hour where the demand for skilled professionals is very high and the desire to get skilled is low.
