The middle school comprises class VII and VIII. The students at this age are playful, fun-loving, distracted, naughty, mischievous, and not focused. So, the Curriculum designed for Middle school motivates them and make them feel responsible to study and prepares the students for the high school public exams.
The teaching methodology sharpens the students in understanding the concepts of their subject in depth. Teachers use various visuals such as teaching aids and pictures as the most highly effective teaching strategies. In Middle School, Students have English, Tamil/French, Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Other than the core academics, they also have Value Education, General Knowledge, Communicative English, Sports, Skill Based Education, etc.
Lessons learnt in middle school increases student concept mastery, general concepts conception, application of concepts in new situations, and attitudes toward science, social and maths in middle school level.
The School of Middle School undergoes consistent practice of improving their Handwriting. Students are given special care in co-curricular activities during these years and are encouraged to undertake efforts to better their English knowledge through the usage of English Language Lab with an international Language Lab Software.
The students also carry out various English Literacy Club activities like newspaper reading, new paper presentation, news reading in media creative – story narration. These activities help them in taking up competitive exams like English Olympiads, International Mathematics Olympiad, Science Olympiad, etc. The Students are also trained to take part in ‘Hummingbird Spellbee Competitions’.
The students undergo rigorous training in National Cadet Corps (NCC) – Air Wing, Navy and Armed Forces. To encourage the sportive spirits of the middle school students, every month intra class competitions are conducted among Class VII & Class VIII respectively.

| Social | The study of Social Science prepares students to grow up as active, responsible, and reflective members of society. It also teaches them to address societal and global concerns using literature, technology and other identifiable community resources. |
The school has state-of-the-art computer labs to cater the students from primary, middle, high school and to senior secondary levels so that every student can keep abreast with IT enhanced learning programmes. The school has spacious, most sophisticated Computer Science Laboratories with high speed internet connectivity and regularly upgrades systems and software. There are 3 computer labs, two for the lower classes and the main computer lab for the students appearing for their public exams. The entire 3 computer Labs are high-tech with LED projectors with virtual classroom facilities that are centrally air-conditioned. The students are given regular lab experiences to have up to date knowledge about the subject and programming with up to date technology advances in IT based educational initiatives.
Value Education is an indispensable part of our curriculum. Our School pays prime attention in disciplining the characters of our students for it carves and mould every student’s character. A realization of self awareness of one’s own behaviour is required to shape and mature oneself perfectly. Value Education is the way students become more and more aware of things that are right and wrong in a society and for an individual. It helps students to also develop a strong relationship with one’s own self, family and friends.
We, at Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School offer a wide range of structured sports activities to our students to ensure they are physically and mentally fit. Our sports activities help in identifying their hidden talent at the same time making them understand the science behind biomechanics, movement sciences (Kinesiology), and preventive and rehabilitative sciences
We would like our students to shine not only in the academic/sports but outshine everyone in the field of performing arts as well, and for this purpose we have opened a Music Club and installed all types of musical instruments. Training is imparted in Guitar, Veena, Violin, Flutes, Keyboards, tabala, drums and miruthangams. In addition, students are trained in Bharathanatiyam, Folk Dance and in yoga.
English Language Lab is installed with Internationally Certified Language Learning Software providing audio visual equipment to enhance comprehensive language skills. It focuses on the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing adopted in blended methodology of games, playway, repeat and practice exercises, etc.
Education should be skill based rather than knowledge based so that it will be easy for all students to study faster and understand better. In the present scenario, skill based education is not a choice but the need of the hour where the demand for skilled professionals is very high and the desire to get skilled is low.
In tune with the need of the hour, our school provides entrance coaching in collaboration with Aakash Educational Service Pvt., Ltd., New Delhi. Every effort is made to make the concepts crystal clear to the students so that they perform their best in all competitive exams like NEET, IIT, JEE, NTSE, Olympiads, JSTS, NMMS, KVPY, NSO, IMO etc.
